Team Spain Ladies Walking Football in Marocco

Written by gary

Team Spain International Ladies Walking Football teams are in action this weekend when they fly to Casablanca to take on hosts, Morocco, England & Wales in a round robin event at +40 & + 50 age groups .

The event will in part present an opportunity for the Team Spain players to test themselves against some of the best players at international level and form part of their preparations for this years World Nations Cup, to be held in Torrevieja in October.

It is just over a calendar year since Team Spain Ladies were formed and 8 players, ‘The Originals’ travelled to Morocco to take part in The International Ladies Day Tournament. Since then the sport of walking football has grown from strength to strength globally and all our sides have had a significant boost in participants looking to compete for places at various age groups. The ladies section is no different and now includes players from Costa Blanca, Costa Del Sol, Sevilla, Vigo and The Canaries.

Stiff opposition awaits ‘Las Chicas’ especially in the form of England who are nailed on favourites to lift all the Cups in Torrevieja in October but confidence is high after numerous training camps and we believe that we can be competitive and continue to narrow the gap on far more experienced nations..
