We are Team Canada Women Over 50s, a diverse and spirited group of athletes who will proudly represent our country at the Walking Soccer World Cup of Nations in Spain in October 2025. Some of us are lifelong soccer players, others discovered the game later in life, and a few are brand new to walking soccer—but what unites us is a deep love of the sport and the opportunity to play it in a way that keeps us active, connected, and competitive. We come from many different ethno-racial, cultural, and professional backgrounds, but together we wear the maple leaf with pride and joy.
Our squad is made up of women whose journeys in soccer and in life are as inspiring as they are varied: former competitive athletes, healthcare professionals, teachers, business leaders, coaches, community builders, and more. From childhood playgrounds to university championships, from playing in global masters tournaments to creating women’s leagues at home, each player brings her own story of perseverance, passion, and love for the game. Walking soccer has provided us with a chance to continue competing, forming friendships, and showing that sport truly has no age limit.
Representing Canada is more than a dream come true—it is a chance to showcase a new and inclusive version of the beautiful game on the world stage. We know there will be challenges, sweat, and maybe a few tears, but above all there will be laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories. We are honoured to play for Canada, and we can’t wait to step onto the pitch in Spain.
