On July 3, 2025, the Dutch Walking Football team was officially selected for the upcoming World Cup in Torrevieja. The team was formed through the FC Mooiste Contact initiative, a collaboration between the KPN Mooiste Contact Fund and the KNVB. More than just football, this initiative emphasizes social connection and active aging. The squad was chosen by head coach Hans van Breukelen, contactcoach Peter Heerschop, and team captain Kees Kist. The twelve selected players represent not only sporting spirit but also the power of community and meaningful contact.
