Jim the Goalie’s story!
The Walking Football community in Glasgow is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and teammate, Jim Nicol fondly known as Jim the Goalie. Jim was a true stalwart of Walking Football, especially across Bellahouston and Pollok, where his presence in goal – and his ever-present smile – became part of the very fabric of our sessions. What we will all remember most is his warmth, his laughter, and the positivity he brought to everyone around him. Week after week, he reminded us what the game is truly about — friendship, support, and the simple joy of showing up for one another. Jim will be sorely missed by his friends, family, and the entire Walking Football community throughout Glasgow. Rest easy, JTG. The pitch won’t be the same without you — but your spirit will always be with us.
