Womens Teams are ready for world nations cup 2025
The women’s section is very well-supported
If ever there was a yardstick indicator of the global growth of a sport then Women’s Walking Football would be it.
Played only as demonstration matches in 2023 the women’s section has taken off in a big way over the last two years. Multiple team international club tournaments are played on a regular basis around Europe and the nations representative sides have had similar growth success.
There are no less than 18 teams competing across the age group sections at the FIWFA World Nations Cup event in Torrevieja in October – it’s a spectacular achievement in a short space of time. Teams from long-haul destinations have committed to appearing at this event. Nations include NZ, Australia, Japan, Brazil, and Canada!!
Once again, England will probably be the team to beat at +40 but I have a feeling that the other two age groups may possibly be harder to predict.
Whatever the outcome and irrespective of who lifts the silverware, the Ladies section, on entry numbers alone, has already proven to be a great success.
